E-pre-print Help (Last Modified on Thursday, 03-Jul-2008 11:53:11 EDT)
The e-pre-print directory is in pretty raw form, though it actually contains a lot of content. Each paper is identified by a descriptive two part name, where one part is the journal name and the other part describes the content.
For instance,
http://papers.gersteinlab.org/e-print/genome-fold-pat-proteins
is a directory that contains a recent paper on "genome fold patterns" in the journal Proteins, viz:
M Gerstein (1998). "Patterns of Protein-Fold Usage in Eight Microbial Genomes: A Comprehensive Structural Census," Proteins 33: 518-534.
For most recent papers, there are PDF and HTML versions (identified by .html and .pdf endings) and sometimes text (TXT), RTF, and ps.gz versions. The PDF is usually the most readable version. For instance, an PDF preprint of the above paper is:
http://papers.gersteinlab.org/e-print/genome-fold-pat-proteins/genome-fold-pat.pdfA "grottier" HTML version is: http://papers.gersteinlab.org/e-print/genome-fold-pat-proteins/genome-fold-pat-html
